I have owned the Cloven Hoof for awhile now and I love the pedal. I had been searching for a good distortion pedal and went with the EQD Cloven Hoof due to the tone flexibility and it cleans up nicely as well. I placed a DOD 250 Overdrive in front of it as a clean boost to drive it even further. I have never personally played the original HOOF but it does sound good as well
her in this demo and a few others on you tube. The Cloven Hoof seems to have a bit more of definition on the high end notes across all settings. Am I wrong?

Pumpkins! id go with the regular hoof, its bassy and wooly but can get trebly if needed

I am a massive attack fan and I'd love to cover distorted into "angel" and "dissolved girl" songs. Should I pick the original hoof? That is what I believe. Or should I go for another kind or pedal brand? Cheers

At first I thought the added gain on the Cloven sounded great and now I think it's harsh and washes out the sound and gets to brittle. It would probably be great for metal though. I think the original has plenty of clarity and grit.

I love my hoof i find that the gloven hoof is harsher the hoof is bit mellower
