Congress protest calls Netanyahu a ‘war criminal’

Binyamin Netanyahu has launched a blistering attack on those protesting the war in Gaza, calling them Iran’s “useful idiots” during an address to the US Congress.

More than 30 leading Democrats, including the former House speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Kamala Harris, the vice-president who is favourite to be the party’s presidential candidate, skipped Netanyahu’s address.

Rashida Tlaib, a Democratic congresswoman from Michigan, held up a sign in the House chamber during the speech that read “war criminal” on one side and “guilty of genocide” on the other.
