Manchester United has provided an update about their stadium project today after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe again confirmed his desire for a new Old Trafford.

Ratcliffe has made no secret of his desire to have a new-build stadium on the same site at Trafford Park. In an interview with The Times released on Monday evening he said:‌ “I think it is financeable. But key to it is being part of the government regeneration project for southern Manchester which, you know. Rachel Reeves has talked about as one of those three major planks of their growth strategy.

“We’re not going to ask the government for any money to build the ground but we can’t afford to do all of the other stuff around it.

“But we want an iconic stadium and I would like to do think those billion fans around the world will all want to come to Manchester and see it, which will create value for the club and the north economy."

This is a much better video than the one released by Man Utd. Neville isn't cut out for voiceover work lol

It looks as far away from a football stadium as you can get, looks like it belongs in a Disney theme park

Looks like a circus tent!

... Fitting

Sir Jim Ratcliffe: "Carrington will be the best training centre, we will have one of the best facilities in the world. We have spent 50 million pounds. It will be really impressive. The stadium must be the same"

The most famous club in the world is Real Madrid!

Why does it look like a circus? They just want it to be seen from miles away? Get rid of the tents and keep everything else. This looks like a copy of the design for the Morocco stadium that's 115k seater. From the inside, they should try to make it look like Real Madrids, with the roof and the outside, they should keep part of the old stadiums look to keep the soul of the club

I’m always staggered that these people, who have a blank canvas, choose not to opt for an imposing, grand traditional football stadium, with big, epic columns and defined stands.
Instead, they choose a weird mish mash of tents, shopping malls and airport terminals. I question how much into football these architects are/were, if at all. They seem out of touch.

Wow, deeply impressive. Now build it!

Will the buckets, to catch the drips when it rains and it’s too difficult/expensive to get to the fault, be red?

I wish I could call the destruction of an iconic stadium "an exciting project" but alas, I can't.

Sir jim like as a Business man, we need to build a new team first, rather than building a new stadium to keep them earning a good income.

Well it will be the biggest and baddest stadium in League 1 seeing how crap the team is!

Perhaps the Glazer could pay for outright, they've had enough of our money.

3 pillars holding a mosquito net on a stadium is crazy🤣. I guess they cant win in life either😅.

It does look impressive and definitely different.
Some modern stadium exteriors are reminiscent of toilet bowls. This is at least a different take, and has practical uses.
Give me a "wall" stand and multiple screens for replays (hopefully VAR will be in the bin in 5 years)

From the Theatre of Dreams to the Circus of Dreams. Oh, how far we have fallen!

No named stands, no statues of legends, nothing. Just the look of a shopping center and an awful oval bowl, like those in the USA and Tottenham. I envy the Scousers and their Anfield. Although I suppose they're not in as much of a financial mess as we are.
