My spouse and I are adding a variety of stocks/ETF to my present holdings for the long term, We've set aside $250k to start following inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows, I believe it is a good time to capitalize on the market for long-term gains, but it wouldn't hurt to know means of actualizing short term profit.

We've allocated $220k to begin with, focusing on inflation-indexed bonds and companies with strong cash flows. I think the current market presents a good opportunity for long-term gains, but I'm also interested in learning ways to make short-term profits.

With regard to SCHD, I'm no fan of Verizon... and if you scroll a bit, Ford will be in the list, too. Yuck. But... SCHD reconstitutes itself annually in early March, and since Verizon actually missed a dividend payment in 2023, I'm expecting Verizon to drop off the list of holdings in the coming year.

Does anyone have just VTI in their Roth IRA for the best total returns? Or do you have dividend etfs like schd too?

Do you not consider that rate cuts will happen for the wrong reason and that 24/25 could become a wirlpool with new highs/lows all in a 18 month span with a years long period to settled the dust?

I havent considered the stock market outside my 401k till recently and decided to pull a large chunk out of money market savings accounts to start investing in schd for long term, my question, with some form of recession looming in the next 6-9 months, I assume I should just wait to enter during the drop, right?

Why before 2024 do they get expired in 2024 😂
