Fenix, Coast, Nitecore, Wurkkos, NEBO, Ledlenser, Olight, Amaker, Bud K, Sofirm, Millertech, Zmoon, Zebralight, Princeton Tec, Lepro, Danforce, ODEAR, and MIOISY. Headlamps compared for brightness, Light Throw, Quality, Narrow and Broad Beam Performance, headlamp temperature while in sue, and Run Time. Batteries compared for actual capacity vs advertised capacity. Additionally, batteries compared for maximum current (amps).

I bought all of the headlamps/flashlights and all test equipment and supplies to ensure an unbiased review. So, thank you for supporting the channel!

Sorry it's taken me so long to finally put together this review after so many requests! If you'd like to see another review with additional brands, please let me know. The links to the products teste are below, but please check out the video description for more details. Thank you and best regards, Todd

Very impressed that you bought the tester just for this video, and without sponsors funding you. It really shows the integrity of both you and your results.

No BS, no jibber jabber, just a honest man testing and evaluating equipment. Todd saves me time and money.

I have a Fenix PD30 from when I was a firefighter, it was mounted on my helmet.

I was in a house fire, and the ceiling collapsed right on my head, so hard it cracked the side of my helmet, right were my flashlight was mounted. Even like that, the Fenix survived, and 10 years later, I still have it!

Fenix truly is Top of the Top of the line.

This isn't the Gold Standard. This IS THE STANDARD of testing. No one does it any better or even come close.
I've been a subscriber since Feb 2018 & this channel has just grown & grown. 🎆

Hi I am a professional architectural lighting designer with a master's degree in lighting design and technology and you did such a great job testing, explaining the science, and communicating the results! Well done for something tricky and technical. Outstanding

No apologies necessary, Todd. I look forward to every installment and appreciate the time and $$ you put into each episode.

I have a couple Fenix HM50R V2 and they are BY FAR the best headlamps I have ever had. Farming and working outside I average about 1-2 hours of use per day with a headlamp and I had been going through killing 1 to 3 blackdiamond or petzl lights per year and about a dozen cheap offbrand amazon rechargeables every year. I am at almost 3 years on two of the fenix and they work and hold a charge like day 1. Worth every penny and will be buying a few more soon.

As an experienced flashlight reviewer, I'm glad to see someone put instrumented tests in front of such a large audience. I did note a few things during the video which I hope will be helpful for the next time you do a video on lights:

Some of the lights were producing scanlines in the video, indicating they use PWM (rapid flickering) for brightness control. This is not obvious to human eyes until either the light source or an illuminated object moves quickly, but can be disorienting when it does, and can be a problem if the light is used to illuminate a photo or video. Flashlight reviewers generally consider this a flaw.

Color rendering is an important trait for some applications. Color temperature (blue/yellow balance), tint (red/green balance), and color rendering index are all relevant to color rendering. Most LEDs underrepresent a large fraction of the spectrum daylight provides, leading to washed out colors. The Sofirn's flood LED and the Zebralight have much higher CRI than the others.

Comparing runtime in the highest mode when the sustained brightness differs greatly doesn't seem like a very useful test. Perhaps time over a certain number of lumens or candela, starting in the lowest mode that hits that number would be a good way to compare.

I don't think the Zebralight was on its highest mode. It claims 1568 lumens, and every independent test of a Zebralight I have seen found it was at or very near its claimed output.

The Olight battery is proprietary, having an extra contact. While most lights from most brands can use batteries of the correct size from other brands, the Olight cannot. Many people consider this a significant flaw.

I'm a flashlights afficionado since 2008-2009 and had dozens of them. Fenix, Olight, Nitecore and Zebralight are top notch, Wukkos and Sofirn more budget friendly but still reliable, I'll buy any of those in a heart bit and wouldn't bother with the rest. The effort for the test is greatly appreciated.

Don’t ever apologize!
The work you do is always appreciated by me. Thank you for all you do to test things that I eventually end up buying.
You always point out the best advantages and negatives as well.
Thank you.

Fenix for life!! I have been using them for over a decade for night fishing here in Hawaii. They are the best for sure.

As an electrical and lighting designer I have a lot I could say here. Especially wanted to mention anything over 4, 000 lumens for sustained lighting in such a small package is unrealistic as that would require around 40W input power. The thermal dissipation required to cool such an LED would be much larger than these head mounted light modules can achieve for a sustained load. Thanks for the video!

Here's a video idea I'd love to see on this channel: Which cutting board dulls knives the fastest? Comparing wood cross grain, wood end grain, polypropylene, polyethylene, glass, etc. Love this channel!

Todd... Shining light on these headlamps really illuminates the shady side of some of these brands with a battery of tests and sheds some good light on the quality makers! What a bright idea charged with wisdom my dude!!!

And like magic again you have tested a product that I needed last night and we did not have around the house. I am buying at least 2 of these. Thanks again Project Farm for another quality video for something we can all use!!
