Im amazed that someone took the time to comment your previous tutorial, blender uploaded a new version, and you Updated your own tutorial. 3 awesome examples that defines how lovely the blender community really is.

Thanks for the tutorial!!!

Awesome Tutorial. I noticed that the set positon node is different as the socket is pink in your tutorial which you can check but it now looks different. Trying to figure this part out

Really exciting that geo nodes just gets better and better!

Looks great! You can also capture the output of the random value node directly on the faces and plug that into the multiply node directly. It's the same, but maybe a little bit simpler and a little bit faster. :)

For me this tutorial will be life changing; it allowed me to create the "main event" effect for a very critical promo video I'm working on. The impact this video is having cannot be overstated. This is a life saver when I was drowning. Sometimes, what you casually decide to do, to help others along, has huge impact. Unfortunately not enough people give you this kind of feedback when it happens. I wish more did. Thank you for this ... I liked, I subscribed, and I was happy to do it. I will send you a link to the video when it's done and you will understand how important this is.

Thanks so much for this, it clarified how this system works for me a bit better. I wish they'd just stuck with a tried and tested concept like houdini's and not re-invented the wheel. This stinks of Not Invented Here syndrome.

Mind blown at the simplicity!
This kinda beats other disintegration tuts ...
Great job :D

Your solution to get random values for each face is awesome, is much easier than what I`ve come up with, when I faced the same problem. I did an attribute statistic to get the number of points that a face is composed of (for non quad geometry) then did a snap on the ID to get the same result... In a more convoluted way :))

I think the color fades to let you know which node you have selected, it switched to white on the side you had a node selected.

thanks for posting - very cool!

not sure why my faces are flying up (only when I use Y not Z) but only right next to the plane, once it passes through they return to the original spot..

note: my blender build is several days old. so it's still 3.0 alpha but not "last night" - I don't have for example colored noodles

this is great :D thank you
Is there any way to turbulence this animation ? To make it look more organic
I have a point cloud mesh from photogrammetry app exported to blender PLY, I'm tryin to add the same animation with some Turbulence

I love the effect, looks great. i think after blender 3.0 we will get many new animation "geometry node addons", or ready built geometry groups with slider controller like groups in shader editor, that will be great. blender xmas 2021 :-)
