To answer the question "why he turned into a girl";
Back in the preivoud ward when he and Walter participated in a war to eliminate the Nazis, Walter was 14years old boy and Allucard, to compliment this, had his form as a young girl. He turns into a girl again this time to mock Walter of his "child's play".

We've seen a younger Alucard, he appeared in this same OVA. Girlycard isn't a younger Alucard. In fact there has been some speculation that Walter had a crush on Girlycard for a while until he found out the truth. So from what I've seen Alucard chose that form, even during Dawn, to troll Walter.

I like that he retains his masculin voice. One because Joji Nakata has a very sexy voice, and two because it works to his Eldricth Terror type of being. It's jarring, it's creepy, you expect to hear something sweet and cute but the monster is still there.

I cannot get enough of this scene, if only for the epic speech Alucard makes talking to Walter and deconstructing his whole "Betrayal" down to the bare minimum of logic that make for the fine distinction between Badass and Whiny child in the Hellsing world.

Am I the only one that thinks girlycard with Alucard's adult male voice is perfect? It adds to the creepiness factor, and is far more appropriate than a little girl voice talking before and during the fight with Walter, speaking in a girl's voice would just kill the mood that Alucard has set up for his fight with his former friend.

And before you ask; Yes Walter, this *IS* a JoJo reference!!!

Edit: Wow guys! I really, really didn't think I'd get 500 for that. Thank you all. 😊

The English Dub is out now... it's just as amusing to hear Crispin Freeman's voice come out of a little girl.

Alucard doesn't watch Twilight...he watches Adventure Time in his 70 inch plasma widescreen TV because he's a REAL FUCK MOTHERING VAMPIRE!!! He should be treated as such

I would have preferred if when he said "Now come, brat" he should have a girl voice, just a thought

the thought that walter was possibly in love with his gender fluid vampire coworker has crossed my mind several times during the series

So I just realised this. It's likely been about 10 years since I've watched the original of this show. Ever since watching the abridged version, I can only hear Alucard talk with the voice by TFS. Now hearing Alucard speak, I'm realising he has the same VA as Kirei Kotomine from Fate, and it fits so damn well!

I understand he can become anything but... If he's gonna be a girl why does he still talk like a man.. It's just creepy

It seems people miss Alucard's character a lot, reading these comments.

First of all Alucard has a sense of humor. Its dry, dark and witty when you see the full joke.

Second, because his ridiculous vampiric powers he patronizes human warriors.
To him they are little pests, the only human warrior to have earned his respected was Van Helsing. (Later Integra and the Queen)

The reason is that though utterly frail as a human, Van Helsing managed to corner and capture him. Alucard attributes human's true power to their unflinching courage and purity of character. This is why he gets really pissed off when Anderson turns into a monster to fight his ridiculous vampire power.

This is why he also plays Integra's pet as she has the same purity of character as Van Helsing. Also, he enjoys strong women (humans) in general.

Because of this Alucard's first reaction is to mock humans. Walter gets called Brat or Little Shit. Sera gets called Police Girl- its not a sign of respect or a descriptor. He means it in a mocking way.

Once they earn his respect he addresses them differently. When Walter gets old, he respects him and calls him by his name.

Alucard sees aging as the true display of human pride. He despises humans who forsake their humanity for the vices of vampire life. (Again, he respects purity of character)

It's why Walter gets honest praises for his services in his old age, why he finds the Queen to finally mature into her beauty.

However, Sera is a bit of a wild card. He even admits he doesn't really know why he turned her instead of just letting her die a human. It was a whim, however he respects how she strives to retain her humanity even as a vampire; despite his pragmatic advice and chastising to fully mature into a full vampire ASAP

This is why he doesn't despise her as a vampire. Unlike other vampires he encounters. Thematically, you could say its because he sired her, but it wouldn't explain his character motivation.

Moving back onto Walter, back then he was paired with Walter as Hellsing' assassin unit and search and destroy unit.

Alucard morphing into a girl was to mock Walter, troll Walter, back talk Integra in passive aggressive style, and the practicality for the Nazi missions. Espionage, sabotage, and assassination. That there is how Alucard finds amusement amongst humans. If it was just search and destroy he would probably just stay in his original, but trolling Walter was too much fun.

Because Walter had a thing for fem Alucard.

Also, Hellsing didn't have enough influence back then to cover up "the Alucard expense, madam..." So no level releases allowed. Probably 🤷‍♂️

Of all the versions I have seen, I must say that the Italian dubbing of alucard is sublime and magnificent..
