😊
I wish i could effortlessly do a CLEAN double pirouette with free leg in ballet pasé vs jazz pasé.
I watch everyday in FYP and am amazed at you all
Usually there's 1 prodigy... you ALL ARE prodigies
Be proud 😊.

Damn my physical deformities!
Hips naturally rotate in,
One side of my rib cage sticks out more than the other
when stretching over the legs
(makes me feel like Quasimodo,
But i'm usually the only one that notices it.
When people touch if is when they discover it.
Turns out my childhood scoliosis didn'tgo away after all) 😖😖😖
AND LASTLY
One of my legs is longer than the other.
Not a deformity but I also have extreme fibromyalgia
But dance is my only remedy for my mental health
Only way I feel human
2024 will be MY renaissance and push through all of the pain i'm in everday
Get back to living as i've bedn on hiatus for a bit over 10 years.

So what do any of you guys think?
I started dancing ballet and hiphop at 23
Dance with that one studio for 7 years
Added 5 additional dance styles/classes for the week + the ballet & hiphop
(Additional ballet tech, tap, contemporary and musical theater/lyrical, jazz)
Plus Zumba, which was so fun
(its latin dance fitness for those that don't know)
My studio ageismed & body shamed me out when the new season came
I was 30 then and told i could take classes for technique but couldn't perform
A guy that was in my contemporary class was 35 my final year
He was phenominal but the studio owner really had it out for me.
I wanted to try Pointe as it had been a dream of mine
But the owner said my weight was too much of a liability to be En Pointe
Mind you i wasn't huge looking back I was about 140lbs
Not Ideal
But i've been to drop in classes with girls En Pointe that were bigger than me
So I went to another studio that was understanding
But w/ going from rinky dink studio to a ballet academy... it was night and day
BUT I was behind b/c after 7 years i thought i was ready for a bit of a challenge
Being I came from beginner & took a step up to intermediate
It was like i had never taken ballet a day in my life
It was embarrassing but the instructors/owners were kind to me
Unfortunately I lived in Massachusetts w/o a car
When you have to walk to and from class as the temperature got lower & lower
No longer is it mind over matter, it just stopped being doable.
Life happened
Abuse happened
Almost died
Moved 1300 miles from MA to FL
Anorexia relapsed AGAIN
Body dysmorphia took over this time, for along time
Went down to 107 and I'm 5'4", 1st time in my life I was under weight
Currently recovering
Gained a ton of weight this past holiday
Needing to diet and cross my figures i don't relapse
Regardless of what life throws at me I will dance again and it will be in 2024
I'm 42 will be 43 in March
But have the same heart and ambitions I did at 18

My 4 goals/resolutions for 2024:
Learn to love myself
Get the dental work i need no matter what
Try and move to SoCal
Dance again

Have a wonderful rest of your season
May the 2024 -2025 season see you all shine, get new toe pads & no blisters
That one is for the girl who's toe pads are nothing but strings.😅
