Absolutely loved Leon. Was fortunate to see him live in Memphis in the early Seventies. What a gift he had - what a gift he was.

Leon had this incredibly strong inner spirit, which you could only feel seeing him live.

Leon Russell was my life time coach and that's why I am still in the music industry. He was a great person with a very kind heart and even greater creator of music of all genres. I will love him and Joni Mitchell forever for teaching me the ropes of the music business.

Leon had more soul in his little finger than just about anyone else had in their entire body. RIP brother.

Am I the only one who thinks Leon Russell is one of the sexiest singers ever?

Quite simply, Leon Russell is a musical genius. Love it when Leon tells the story of how Gram Parsons gave Leon the top hat Al Jolson wore in The Jazz Singer and gave him this song (Wild Horses) to sing. This is a fantastic arrangement/version of the song and no one can top how Leon plays piano and Sam Bush plays the mandolin.

I had the awesome experience after many years of attending his concerts I was given the opportunity of sitting on the stage for the entire show right next to his piano on 2/4/05, a cherished memory.

Have been a big Leon Russell fan since the early 1970's. Had the privilege of seeing him live once in the mid 1980's, playing in a 200 seat saloon in Southern California (Orange County). Loved the New Grass Revival album when it came out in 1981, and always liked this version of Wild Horses.
