Welcome new colours to the grid...

This was the motto for Florian Prüstel’s team as they officially kicked off the new 2022 Moto3™ season today. The annual team presentation took place in the traditional background of Sachsenring circuit – but unfortunately, as last year, without sponsors and fans. Due to technical issues beyond the control of the racing team, the live broadcast on social media could unfortunately start a little later than planned. The whole show was moderated by racing expert Stefan Nebel.

A lot has happened at the Saxon racing team in the last few months. The biggest change: in 2022 the team changed its status from a private team to the official factory team for the Chinese ATV manufacturer CFMOTO, whose Vice President of Sales for the European market, Markus Ferch, also attended the presentation. The Chinese company, which is already successfully represented in numerous other racing series, including the legendary Isle of Man TT, is ready for the next big step into racing with its entry into Moto3™.

For the team manager Florian Prüstel, 2021 was of course one of the most difficult seasons since the racing team was founded, but he is looking forward to the upcoming season full of expectations. Florian Prüstel is happy and proud to collaborate with a an international and powerful brand such as CFMOTO.

The new team, CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP, will start this season with an all-Spanish riders pairing. Xavier Artigas #43 can be a great protagonist this year, having finished the season finale 21 in the best way possible with his first GP win in Valencia. The goal is keep fighting for top places in all of the 21 tracks of the calendar. Also Carlos Tatay #99, the former Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup winner, worked hard on himself and his technique over the winter after a challenging season. He will have a key year ahead of him in 2022 and is fired up to hit the gas with the colours of the Chinese-German collaboration.

The CFMOTO crew is supported by Tom Lüthi as sports director, among others. The Swiss is not only a World Champion (2005, 125cc), multiple Moto2 runner-up and GP rider – he was also Jason Dupasquier’s mentor and coach.

With Massimo Capanna as technical director, another important key position has been filled. He will bring a lot of experience with him and has already produced world champions in the Moto3™ class.

Now the team will be soon off to Spain for the first tests before the first race of 2022 starts in Qatar at the beginning of March.
