He has the design of Wind waker + Twilight princess with the expressions of Ocraina of time. Truly one of the best adaptions

Zelda: "How do you know our names?"

Ganondorf: "Hold up, let me bench press this castle real quick."

I love how Ganondorf first meeting Link is basically "Really? You're Rauru's last hope? Seriously?"
It's cool seeing him go from annoyed and dismissive to pleasantly surprised when Link does prove to give him a decent fight to complete breakdown when Link starts beating him.

*HP bar reaches normal length*
"Hell yeah, let's do this!"
*keeps going*
"Uh, okay, enough."
*keeps going*
"That's enough."
*keeps going*
"THAT'S ENOUGH"

something that cracks me up is the fact that Ganondorf had been anticipating Link for over 10, 000 years and when he wakes up he's just a 4'9 blonde twink

The choice to make The Demon King's health bar continue to grow past the normal length was brilliant. Not only did it fill me with a sense of dread, knowing this was going to be a seriously difficult boss, but it was a great way to exemplify his power. It's like he's so powerful that even the game can't properly handle it, and his health bar continuing to grow to 2x its normal length was such a great way to get that point across.

Ganondorf is the only character who never speaks in a text bubble. He only speaks fully voiced. That makes him the most real out of all of them

10:59 You must slow this moment down to 0.25 to fully grasp every frame of JOY and ECSTACY this man is experiencing knowing he is about to achieve 110% pure hydration status.

It's weird how the last time we actually saw Ganondorf in a mainline game was in Twilight Princess in 2006, not counting the spin-offs and Smash, and even there he only appeared near the end. He's Nintendo's most iconic bad guy behind Bowser so they knew people wanted him back. And man they really delivered, he steals the scene in each scene he's in, they really didn't shy away from how evil and powerful he is supposed to be.

I love how they actually just made him straight up evil. You can hear the crunch of Sonia’s spine when he hits her, and he just laughs dementedly knowing that he’s going to be unstoppable. He’s not getting revenge or using some sobstory to justify himself, he’s just a horrid force of hate and evil that wants ALL the power.

The thumbnail represents more than just a face, it expresses all emotions such as fear, glory, happiness, joy, depression, excitement etc. And this day, i feel so inspired by Ganondorfs face

Zelda's sheer look of terror at 12:43. Damn. She already experienced the great calamity. I'd like to think that at this point she understood where it stemmed from.

What I personally love about this version of Ganondorf is that the guy shows respect; when told of Link and how he will have the sword that seals the darkness, and is told to remember this name, he actually is interested. He desires worthy foes to fight, which is a nice little addition; gives him more personality than simply just wanting to destroy the world.

Zelda: [Trains her entire life to defeat a beast called Ganon] “You know something about the name GANONdorf doesn’t sit right with me…”

This game totally understands Ganondorf. There's no sad backstory, no sympathetic goal, just a mean motherfucker who's evil because he's evil, and smiles like a fucking maniac after killing a woman with his bare hands.

What blows me away about this version of Ganondorf (apart from Matt Mercer absolutely killing the performance) was the sheer attention to detail that went into his various designs for this game. He really felt like a combination of so many previous incarnations, all rolled into one.

His design is classic Ganondorf, but when he gets the Secret Stone, he's the spitting image of Demise, his original predecessor, which really accentuates his rise to ultimate power, and apotheosis right before his "ascension". Right down to the black scales hiding in his clothes, and glowing pulsing hair.

But not only then, but after he absorbs the stone and becomes a dragon, his eyes IMMEDIATELY reminded me of Malladus, the "Demon King" from Spirit Tracks, which felt like an incredible tie-in, and further implies that he really is a king of demons.

At every moment in this game, he exudes power over everything around him, and it's honestly incredible. They absolutely nailed him this time.

I really wish we got even more cutscenes with Ganondorf ngl, he’s easily the best part of the games story imo. I wanted to see more back and forth’s between him and Rauru, dialogue between him and Twinrova and especially something with Zelda herself. It’s a missed opportunity to be sure…

What I love about Ganondorfs death in TOTK isn’t the standard explosion of light like every other boss. He blows up like a goddamn nuke.

Zelda's voice actress did such a good job making the puppet sound so creepy and unsettling compared to how nice and comforting actual Zelda sounds
