I remember standing next to our old radio, listening to Radio Luxembourg on "fabulous 208" - the sounding intermittently fading with poor reception - to hear this song which stayed at the #1 spot for nine whole weeks through September and October of 1957. Paul Anka wrote it about his baby-sitter Diana Ayoub, and was rewarded with the best selling single of the year.
