I have made two blankets and each one used 7-8 balls of big chunky yarn.Also I made mine looser . When I made tighter it started to curl .🤷‍♀️

Great place to buy yarn is hobby lobby or Michaels..to make a blanket [or an afghan] the usual count of skeins is anywhere from 1800-2000+ yards which is = Yarn weight which is the thickness of the yarn {ranges from 1-7) 5 is bulky n 6 super bulky n so on. Skeins depends on how big u want to make ur projects but for a blanket a good number is 6+ skeins of bulky (yarn weight 5 bulky) = 2000-2250 yarns of yarn 🧶 depending of the skein yards
