Pi Day I memorized Pi to 111 decimal places

Video above teaches how to memorize pi

I just memorized 111 digits of pi in 5 minutes. Not a lot but keep in mind it was in 5 minutes while at a noisy restaurant and reading the numbers on my cell phone.

However, it's not the amount of digits I memorized in 5 minutes that should be important but that I just memorized pi and you can too.

For that matter you can memorize any number and not just pi if you have images for numbers and use the Mind Palace technique that I used.

Here are the first 1 million digits of pi if you are wanting to set your own personal memory record or even the world record for memorizing pi. I think it's around 80,000 digits is the world record for pi memorization!

A year ago on pi day I memorized pi out to 103 decimal places using probably the same method. It took me 15 minutes to do it, but I am not a memory champion like Ron. I was going to do another 99 this year on pi day, but ironically forgot to do it. I still recall the 103 decimal places from last year and I do review it every few months as I drive along a certain journey. I associated every three digits to a location along the journey. One thing I notice too is that I cannot recite the numbers as fast as Ron and I tend to of course remember them in sets of 3.

You’re a memory “expert” and you have a video out getting to 111 digits?! Ooooh. Let me ask, what is the 45th number in Pi? Can you say it backwards without memorizing it backwards? What about just the odd numbers? So it seems that all you’re really trying to do is sell a system of recall. Not impressed.
