See the Invisible - Schlieren Imaging of Welding GMAW with CAVILUX

Welcome to the Invisible World! Here a GMAW welding process is shot with the help of two CAVILUX laser illumination systems and Schlieren imaging technique.

In a nutshell, with Schlieren imaging technique you can literally see the otherwise invisible changes in the density of fluid or air as the light rays are bent as they pass through the matter. This example of visualization of the protective gas and spatter in GMAW welding process shows, not only the protective gas, but also details of the melt pool and drop forming. You can even see how individual droplets react and how all of the tiny spatter fly to all of the directions. If don’t blink, you can even see shockwaves in the footage.
