As a VIT passout myself, I can say with surity that if someone wants a cheaper accomodation than college hostel, u can search for hostels and flats outside the campus and apply for release from hostel. But I suggest to stay in the hostel for the first year or alteast one semester wherein u can plan your accomodation plans for the next 3 years. Being a day scholar isn't that bad but u miss out on many things that would have been possible in hostel, so there are pros and cons but the pros outweighs the cons

As a VIT-AP student, SRM AP had better management better facilities better quality of education compared to VIT-AP. I recommend not to join here at any cost

If any juniors or school students are reading this just wanna say that the syllabus at colleges are shit, you ain't gonna learn anything from teachers. At the end you have to work yourself, learn from YouTube, participate in hackathons and stuff, to be simple upskilling yourself should be the main goal. And about placements at college, mostly people make it into the 8-20 LPA range completely. It's very hard to get into the super dream packages as the competition is very high. The first filteration criteria is CGPA and there are thousands of children already with 9.7+ CGPA. So if SRM or VIT or any other two tier college, just upskill yourself and try to crack good placements in off campus and keep on campus as backup.

Life in srm is anyday better than vit. You just count things you can see, There is much more behind. Srm is near chennai that itself is enough. We almost every weekend go to beaches and all. I have been to many places such as underwater aquarium, waterpark, amusement park, playing valley, paintball and escape rooms in just 2 months of my journey! Also campus area you cant count because you can go anywhere you want from chennai to vellore anywhere without telling anyone.
In academics vit might be better but for overall growth srm provides something beyond experience. Srm is so much so much diverse. I myself have 4 friends from different countries - russia, oman, behrain, and quatar. There is so much to have and learn. Vellore is not proper south indian college but, srm is.

I cleared SMRJEEE with 460 rank but I still got only 25% scholarship for the whole course(ie one year free)... but in the video it is something else

i have seen ppl from vit cat 2 being unplaced...so even getting in vit...i think srm is a better option cuz the stats and the ppl i see around...have gotten really good packages like 15lpa or 13lpa so...i think srm is better..

First of all in my Opinion srm is always better...ask chennai ppl..better placements, better life, just dont see nirf alone..watch ariia rank too, srm is top in that..the think why srm has slight lower avg package than vit is bcoz srm has many micro ug courses where there will low placements so it may bring down the avg package down..hope u understood( vit offers like 25-30 ug programs where srm provides 40+ ug programs)
