if you have recently purchased this great camera and are finding it difficult to understand Panasonics Basic, or the Advanced users guide then this series of videos might be of interest to you. In this introduction to the camera I point out the most important features of the camera. If you have migrated from one of the previous FZ series of cameras then bear with me as I try to get new users to this camera system up to your speed.
The whole series will go through all the features and functions of the camera and I will expand on areas where the manual doesn't go into any detail about the functions at all. In as many cases as possible I will illustrate the features using real world pictures and video and for the more challenging topics I will present the whole process in video form so that you can see exactly how to set up an effect etc.

Hi Shiela, the remote/mic socket is dual purpose. It can be used for either function, but obviously only one at a time. Plug a mic in and the camera selcts the mic input, remove it and plug in a compatible wired remote release and the camera then sets the socket as the remote connection. Hope that helps.

thanks Freda, hope you enjoy the updated camera. The screen is much bigger and folds out, which is a big advantage. You are used to the constant aperture f2.8 on thee FZ10 so no change with this newer model. You will notice more in the video mode than in stills quality.
