Dr. Li Wenliang, who sounded an early warning about coronavirus spread in Wuhan, and was taken in by local authorities, has died. Dr. Seheult discusses Dr. Li, a slight drop in daily confirmed coronavirus cases, briefly compares 2019-nCoV to influenza (though a comparison is difficult), and illustrates a recent novel coronavirus transmission in Canada

We've produced each COVID-19 video with the best information we could access at the time of recording. Naturally, some videos will contain information that has become outdated or replaced by better information or research.

That said, we believe each video contains concepts that have enduring value and reviewing how the response to COVID-19 has progressed over time may be of interest to you as well.

Funny how you didn't also report that when this doctor sounded the alarm the police forced him to retract his statement and he was arrested.
Had the government listened to this medical professional how many people would have been spared?
Does ANYONE seriously think these numbers are correct? Raw video coming out of Wuhan proves there are no medical supplies to help people. They don't even have tests available at this point.

Truly heartbreaking, Dr Li Wenliang RIP. I hope some good comes out of his sacrifice. If only the regime had listened to him sooner instead of threatening him. Only 34 years old

The graph is probably layering off since hospitals can only process a certain amount of people.

With all due respect Dr. Seheult, you're tying to analyze numbers that almost no one believes are correct.

I'm sure that doctor, after becoming an enemy of the state and forced to apologize for daring to bring attention to the virus, received the best of

Sadly the fact diagnosis is plateauing around 3k is much more likely indicative of China's testing capacity then it is the disease is abating.

China also report ~5k unconfirmed new cases today. I guess they reached the limit of their PCR analysis rate at 3-4 k per day.

Great breakdown, however I have a hard time believing the “official” numbers from China. Their intense efforts lead me to believe this thing is significantly worse than what we are being told

Thank you, Dr Seheult, for the education and for truth, and not appealing to racism.

RIP, Dr Li Wenliang, for telling the truth. Perhaps in another life or another dimension, you can live in a society where truth is respected, without interference from political edicts.

The amount of confirmed cases cannot exceed the number of tests done. An interesting graph would show how many tests were run per day. If you have 50 patients and run 25 tests, confirmed number of infected cannot exceed 25...
Edit: Consider the possibility the actual number of infections double each week. Does the number of tests run also double? It is doubtful as testing facilities cannot run above a certain capacity.

Thank you for remembering Dr Li. I feel so sad about his passing. Here in Canada, we are hearing from health care workers who got SARS. So sad. At least the health care system seems to have learned a lot from that. The worry though is that the learning is hospital-based more than primary care-office based. Almost all of us head to our family physician in a primary care office first and foremost. Are those offices ready?

RIP bravest doctor... you saved many lives.. and you could have saved more, had you not been hindered by the govt.. salute to your bravery.

In China..How does one count cases if citizens were told to stay home, not to drive and public transportation stopped? How do they get to food n drugstores & hospitals? Seems stress and isolation could be as deadly as the New Virus.

I want to believe it's leveling off. I'm not a pessimist by nature. But the unanswered questions remain: Why is China building so many hospitals if this was just a 1 month bug? Why did China quarantine MILLIONS for a simple flu? Why is the US gearing up to build quarantine areas for this coronavirus but not for the reg flu considering the reg flu killed 30, 000 in the US last year?

The citizens aren't worried because we are paranoid. The citizens are worried because the government is acting terrified.

Dr Li was a hero. Not only did he fight pathogens but also fought the tyranny attempting to silence him. RIP and God bless Dr Li.

If the source is from China, I'd have to ignore it.
