C6 Z06 Corvette: Thoughts After Owning 2 Years

Talking about what I like and dislike about the Vette after owning it almost 2 years

I have a yellow 07 z06
And absolutely love the car
This is my 2nd zo6
The ride is the same as you described it
It is all because of wide tires
A base c6 has narrower tires and NO sway bar in rear and a softer shock settings and that is why a base corvette is so much more enjoyable to drive
But the scream and power of 427 got me sold
I had a c6 grand sport
It rode heavy compared to z06
The exhaust note had no scream like the zo6
And hard throttle in to 3d and 4th gear Z06 just keeps pulling compared to ls3 that had no wind left
The stiffness of the aluminum chassis of ZO6 is apparent every where specially in corners and rough roads
Z06 is an undeniable king of NA and it will stay that way

There were a little under 28, 000 Z06 built from 2006-2013. I have to disagree with the statement that it will not be collectable but then again I'm biased lol. Good review!

I look at my Jetstream Blue C6 Z06 every single time and still think it's one sexy looking beast. Not sure what you're talking about. Personal preference I guess.

a small block 427 with 500+ HP isn't slow by any means, any more HP than that you're worried about hooking up and MPG why those cars are only good for a few miles at a time they ALL have heat issues, ALL OF THEM. why they drive a few miles then park for a while, you don't see those guys going from LA to SF for the day or weekend, or driving them coast to coast..

remove that goofy sway shock they use and install a coil over, no jokes, and heavier sway bars, and get an engine bay stabilizer if you can find a good one.. you can get these cars to ride a whole lot better for about $3k, tunable coil overs, the right brake shoes, backup camera, all that, active cruise control...

Even after the heads “fix” do you still check your heads periodically?

Check your alignment factory z06 specs have a lot of camber. My alignment guy took some camber out and it tracks down the road much better

The way you were talking about it driving and pulling all over the road when hitting bumps and such makes it sounds like it needs an alignment or something else is wrong with the suspension... might get it looked at thoroughly by a good corvette shop.

I’m having trouble picking this over a few cars and maybe some people can help educate me 😬 I’m debating on leasing a wide body challenger, buying a 17-18 SS 1le and or a c6 z06 . I’m scared I might get tired of the c6 seeing how fast these 10 speeds and electric cars are .. it’s insane . any help is appreciated thank you person in advance :)
