Yeelight Color Bulb - Unbox and Setup

This is an approximate $30 CAD smart bulb, which is much lower than most of the smart LED color bulbs on the market today, so it's interesting to see this functionality come together with this price.

The Yeelight color bulb shows great colors and functionality when it's all set up. I especially love the "flow" capability that the bulb has to run through 4 different color lights sequentially, forever. I also found the scheduling and timer functions to be high-quality and very helpful for all of us adding these to our smart homes.

The one issue I seemed to have time and time again was with an iOS device or iPhone. The app struggled at times, including during initial setup and using the scheduling capability. Android devices worked perfectly, however. Again, I loved the functionality of the application.

All in all, this is a great device and I'm really looking forward to adding additional Yeelights to my home. I'll use my new Mi account (Xiaomi's service), and I'll add all kinds of smart home products as soon as I can. I can also tell you that the Yeelight color bulb worked perfectly with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa products.

On iPhone you must select 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi instead of 5 GHz.

I set a custom scene on mine. I didn't see you voice control them. The default scenes seems to work but let's say I set a scene called you tige and I ask the light to change scenes to YouTube it doesn't understand. Have you had success with that?

Hello, like you said its not possible to connect with Apple HomeKit, right ? Do you know maybe it will come with an update ? And another question, is it possible to use the bulb without any device like with the normal switcher at the wall ? thx

That's a fantastic price point, converted into GBP, if they provided a Bayonet light bulb version I'd consider these.

Does the WiFi connection (assuming always on) affect negatively:
a) speed of your BroadBand connection? and b) energy consumption?

Mine doesn’t have the option to switch color to red blue ect is their any other option for the bulb or is it just my bulb can’t produce those actions

Thanks for the review. Is it possible to set it in the the app as wake up light, so you for example it starts on very low light and over 30 minutes it gradually increases in brightness?

J’ai déjà desintaller l’application et réinstaller mais rien, j’ai aussi réinitialiser l’ampoule. J’aurais vraiment besoin de ton aide

I've been wondering about the burden on my Wi-Fi when I have more and more devices riding on it. Isn't it better to have one hub controlling, say, 6 bulbs? Not 6 Wi-Fi bulbs?
