From 4-18 May, 20 Young Water Professionals from Romanian and Dutch universities and organizations worked in mixed teams on various water challenges in Romania. The main challenge: develop as a team your own innovative and out-of-the-box solution the team’s water challenge. The Wetskills programme provides a floor to exchange knowledge, build network relation between participants, bridge education and work field, think outside the box, integrate generations and experience international cooperation.

Climateproof Megacities Case owners: INXCES project & Hanze University of Applied Sciences
Ecological rehabilitation of the old Baseu river streambed in the Stefanesti-Romanesti area, Botosani county Case owners: Rijnland Water Authority and Prut-Barlad Water Basin Administration
Business-wise training delivery for Romanian Water Professionals Case owner: World Water Academy
Strategy for Temporary Embankments against flood events Case owners: Flood Proof Romania & VPDelta
Water Jobs for the Danube Delta Case owners: Mila 23 & Pagan Tours
The teams pitched their solutions in an interactive workshop at the ExpoApa Conference. Afterwards the audience met the participants during the poster market. A jury will chose the most creative and feasible solution that is the best integrated in the Romanian context as winning case. For this third Wetskills event in Romania, Wetskills Foundation teamed-up with Politehnica University of Bucharest, Technical University for Civil Engineering of Bucharest and Romanian Water Association.
Wetskills-Romania is the 25th Wetskills event worldwide. Since 2010, Wetskills attracted 500 participants from more than 100 international universities and organisations and has been organised in 17 different countries: Asia (China, Taiwan, Indonesia and India), North Africa & Middle East (Iran, Oman, Morocco, Egypt and Israel), Sub-Saharan Africa (South Africa & Mozambique), Europe (Romania, United Kingdom & the Netherlands) and North America (United States & Canada).
