I've made rc boats before but they never looked good or work well, this helped me alot

Just a tip, next time you need to remove the flux from welding rods, use the pliers to break the surface of the flux, then use fairly course sandpaper (say 120-180). Its much faster :-)

Building it from bits and pieces is really cool and the mixing board is very impressive. From experience though hot glue doesn't like water much. I only use it to hold fittings in place on work in progress scale boats and I still have issues, I think the hull could go quite easily here. Unless it's different to the stuff I use.
