The Kirkuk Governorship in Iraq announced that they would recognise the Turkish language as one of the city's official languages. This means that Turkish will be used in official correspondence, traffic signs, letters and official and educational institutions.

Turkmens are Iraq's third largest ethnic community after Arabs and Kurds. Mervan Al-Ani, an official from the Kirkuk provincial governer’s office said that “The use of the Turkish language in Kirkuk is a constitutional right".

That's good in areas where there are Turkmen. However its sad that Turkey is removing Arabic sign boards in their own country. God bless Iraq!

The more languages you have, the more separation there is! Unity comes in only one language, whatever the language is,

It is commendable that Iraqi Kurdistan allows the Turkish minority rights that the Turks would not even think of giving to the Kurdish majority in the southeast of Turkey.

All Muslim countries must get together and make arabic as their common language and unite together in common interests instead of using Western language and culture in Muslim dominant countries. 🎉🎉

No, it is not the Turkish language, but the monster created by Ataturk. Only some people know what Turkish looks like for real.

As a Kurd: This is a stupid decision. While the Kurdish people remain uncompensated for their years of oppression and our brothers in Afrin remain occupied, we put the Turkish language on the signs of what is CONSTITUTIONALLY the capital city of the Kurdistan region. Shame on the politicians we have been given. We had better leaders in the times of Mustafa and Qazi.
