BREAKING: At Least 6 Killed, 31 in the Hospital After Shots Fired at Highland Park Parade

BREAKING NEWS: At least 6 people are dead, 31 are in the hospital after shots were fired in Highland Park during its 4th of July Parade. Highland Park is located about 25 miles north of Chicago along the lakefront in Lake County.

The area remains on lockdown with dozens of law enforcement agencies now involved as the shooter remains at large.

Law enforcement has said it was a single shooter who fired from a rooftop down on the gathered parade crowd. This official statement does conflict with some previous witness interviews given on WGN. This is a developing, constantly evolving story.

Heard on a different station/channel that the shooter as on the roof of a pancake house.
One reporter early on described the suspect as wearing a grey/brown uniform of some sort and a hat but later on police said the description of the shooter was a white male, slight build, long black hair and wearing a white T-shirt.
