I ended up picking this up for around $45, and at that price it was a no brainer. The model that was on sale were the linear and I like them. There's no denying that there's an adjustment period to mechanical switches if you have spent your entire life using scissor switches (which no one warned me about).

Like I said, I have never used a mechanical keyboard and I think I'll use this as a "baby's first steps" into switches and keyboard enthusiasm. I guess I'll watch some of your videos on how to hot swap keys in the future.

found this for 65$ on a sale. Absolutely buying this.

This keyboard took a little getting used to, but after a bit of practice I warmed up to the speed switches quickly. There's definitely a learning curve to them, and they do register slightly before the click, but I find it to be forgiving enough where a light graze does not activate the keys, and any typos I'm making are due to me just hitting a switch by accident. Perhaps the only tricky thing with these switches is sometimes you're not sure the switch has reset when you go for a double key press on the same key. Either way, if you can get the bronze version for $35 or under I think it's worth it. This being my first mechanical keyboard I'm absolutely elated, especially coming from a K120. Love these clicky switches!

I just got this as my first intro to custom keyboards and its great so far!! Swapped the speed Bronzes for Speed Coppers (Sorry I like tactile switches) and PBT keycaps and it feels amazing compared to the previous keyboard I was using.

YOU CAN TAKE THE LOGO OFF!!! Like you I too thought the logo was hideous. So I opened up the board (13 screws on top 4 under rubber feet) and there are 4 tiny screws in the plastic contraption holding the EVGA logo in. Once the screws are out the logo slides right out. and your left with a nice Black rectangle (albeit with some holes). Currently having a friend of mine 3d print a piece for me to put over the holes so its nice and smooth. but the LOGO CAN BE REMOVED and it looks 10000% better even with a few holes lol.

I got mine for 50 dollars brand new which makes me so happy that my keyboard wasn’t horrible

I took your advice and I bought the EVGA Z15 and I love it! I rotate different mechanical keyboards, from Razer Greens to optical switches to Cherry MX Blues and Browns, but this one is amazing! They really are the cleanest clicks! Thank you! :)

Thanks a lot for this great video. On dot, smooth editing and nice music too. I just found out this video when I saw this KB is selling at whopping $52 shipped right now at Newegg for Kailh Speed Silver. I can't wait to experience my first mech KB lol. It looks solid, packs a ton of features even for newbies like me - hot swap, standard keycaps, per key RGB, fast polling and even has superb media keys on top of a single USB cable & Metal build, mag wrist too damn It's the best entry level top class KB. Just subbed too.

I actually like fixed wires, I’m always concerned with the quality of the connectors and how long they will last, as long as they are solid good quality fixed wires I’m happy

Got this keyboard thanks to your review (and a crazy good deal, buuut mostly your review). It's been about 3 weeks and I'm very satisfied with it. The lack of a tactile option was the most disappointing thing to me, but thanks to it being hot swappable I just swapped out 45 typing keys from Kailh silver to Akko cs blue.

I gotta say so far my experience with a somewhat customizable mechanical keyboard has been awesome. Don't know if I ever have the time or energy for more hands-on modding but it's been a good start. Big thanks to community members and top tier content like yours. 👍

I just picked up this keyboard for $30 on sale. The keys are super sensitive which is something that can't be stressed enough. They register before a full push, and if you're a heavy handed typer you will probably hate this. The software leaves a-lot to be desired compared to the iCUE software from Corsair as well.

I ended up buying the EVGA Z15 recently last year for a black friday sale, which was $50. This is my first mechanical keyboard and I love it! I am overall impressed with the fact that the switches are hot swappable, making it easy to lube the switches or replace them with different switches to try out without needing to solder them! I highly recommend this towards newer keyboard enthusiasts like myself! I recommend modding this keyboard if you are willing to do so! (I plan to in the future btw :O)

Idk if anyone will see this, but I am thinking I will pick it up on sale for Prime Day. At $35 it seems like a pretty great deal, but is there anything around the same price that would be better? Thanks y'all
Edit: I decided to buy it since I had a $5 gift card, when it comes I'll update with my thoughts
Update: I've been using it for a few days and it's been well worth it. The mechanical feel is great, the RGB is nice, and it feels pretty solid. Only things I don't like are that the keys twist a bit, the travel feels a bit short, and the matte black shows oils really easily, so there's a lot of wiping to do. But overall I'm quite happy and would still be satisfied even if I paid more.

It's probably because I have not been exposed to more advanced keyboards, but I really do like this one. Believe it or not, it surprisingly came with my prebuilt gaming PC along with a EVGA mouse (I didn't expect that my order from newegg would come with a new keyboard and mouse). While it could be that I felt I got it somewhat for free, I do like the sleek look, the options for having colorfully lit keys, my fingers somehow feel more naturally in place when typing, and the way they sound when typing. It may not be everyone's favorite keyboard, but I am glad I have as I do with my EVGA mouse (that also lights up colorfully and introduced me to a mouse with side buttons for gaming).

I think the Z-15 is just perfect. The Z20 is probably better but I can't place my hands with the extra keys on the left! I really look forwards to getting this keyboard

Just an awesome review. Everything I needed to know and more in a short time and entertaining presentation. I particularly appreciated the part examining the keypress sounds when pressed in different spots on the space and return keys. And I agree, that branding is abhorrent! It's almost to the point I don't want to even pick it up on deep discount.

Anyway, I appreciate the critical and complete video; you got me to subscribe for similar videos on other peripherals!

Just used your link to buy it at Amazon, thanks for the review. I spilled some awesome tea on my old keyboard and the right side of the keys stopped working after a few days. (it was a cheap mechanical, so I didn't really care, other than losing that cup of tea. I tripped right when getting ready to sit down).
