Leveling in Diablo 2 Resurrected may seem to be easy, however there are many nuances as with almost everything in this game. Starting from basic experience mechanics and level penalties, to a specific startegies on hitting level 99.
In this guide you will learn about these mechanics and what they mean to your progression, how to level through different game difficulties, where to farm levels past 90, and finally, how to reach that level 99.

Hey Everyone! I can see that this video started to get up from its knees It's important to *update now* - most of the info is valid: the theory on exp, everything about levelling through the 3 game difficulties, and getting to level 90.
Main change kicks in when you hit level ~93. At this moment Areas level 85 (Pit, CS, Stony Tombs, World Stone Keep etc) start to give you reduced exp from Champions and Elites. This is the moment it is time to switch to *Terror Zones* - whether solo, or in public games (but ideally you want to run them solo, with other player being elsewhere, e.g. Baal runs). Offline - enjoy Terror Zones at the highest players difficulty your character can handle - there it is a breeze to 99, about 4x times faster. Thanks for watching!

PRO TIP: Find bumpers for your Normal and Nightmare Ancients quests and save them for when you hit 98. Nightmare Ancients gives you 20million experience!!!
Yessir and I dont remember exactly how many mil exp Norm ancients guve tho youll have to look it up. This is something i wish i wouldve done for my first char to hit 99. Insaw a guy who did this the other day who went from 98 to 99 in 14 hours when utilizing Terror Zones tho of course

I would use speedrunners' strats for early power-leveling: Catacombs or Jail with champion packs. Depends on the build too, though. That being said, the explanation was very clear. And, no, I never. Holy grail makes more sense to me, than clvl99 grind.

New study says when you hit 95 your XP in Baal runs drops considerably and you should start farming TZ from 94- 99 because the XP is much better

Annulus removes penalty you receive a hard 10 percent if you get a 10 exp Anni. Works out to double the experience. If you play with buddy also wearing 10exp anni you get an addition double experience.

Currently 95 on my sorc online and I just did 62 runs in 3 hours of Baal runs minions+boss in p8... I average about 3min a run... but this only gave me a bar and a half.... I'm wondering if there is something I could do to make it faster? Should I start doing chaos runs instead of baal run like you explain on your video? I currently have a 9% annihilus btw and I'm not running xp shrines. Thanks.

Why in the Nine Hells do I need level 99? I have level 91 which is more than suitable for gambling and crafting. As for ilvl 95 crafted amulets, I've never seen them in D2R.

Honest question. Back i nthe day I played diablo 2 a lot, Had a revive necromancer, frost sorceress, lightning javelin amazon and 2 paladins, one for hammers the other for zeal (tank), but the grind was a bit too much at points so I wonder is it worth getting the game and starting over?
