Solo Overnight Truck Camping in -19 Degrees

Solo overnight winter truck camping in -19 degrees without a dang heater... My first attempt of Colorado winter truck camping and it was a tough one. Absolutely freezing temperatures, and not a lot of time for a good camping meal. I wanted to setup at a dispersed camping spot, but getting stuck in the snow forced me to stay at the nearby trailhead. I'm also curious to try a bit more stealth camping in the future, let me know your thoughts.

Let me know your thoughts on how I can improve these videos and if there are videos you want to see. I'm constantly trying to improve, and I'd appreciate any constructive feedback you can give me, positive or negative.

For your idea about the channel- actually like the fact that you're not a super pro at outdoorsy things, it's far more realistic and immersive for the rest of us average guys out here watching. Trial and error is an amazing teacher.

Also glad to hear the archery content isn't over and you're just sprinkling variety in (yep I paid attention, that's right!). Keep up the great work dude!

I'm all for making content you enjoy just as long as you keep putting out the no-nonsense archery reviews.

Make videos of anything and everything. Success and failure, anything outdoors, I'll enjoy watching it all!

Some times it gets so cold, you have to keep my water and food in my sleeping bag, at night. The condensation issue is cause you didnt crack enough windows. I use a Western Mountaineering -20 degree bag and sleeping bag liner and a Exped synmat insulated pad and can legitimately tolerate 20-30 below with no issues. This is sleeping in a floorless tent, on the ground at high altitudes. It can so cold the bic lighters wont light, so I switched to a lithium lighter ( from Phone Skope). For boiling water for top ramen, just get the little jet boil or MST type iso stoves. 50 seconds and done, and can boil inside the truck, and out of the elements.

Im here because of the Toyota Land Cruiser and the exploring you do. You keep it simple and with an open mind to learning which I find refreshing. If your video has a Landcruiser in it I'll watch.

You touched in it at the end but being outdoors for me is experiencing it. Not just the views but the elements. Like stepping outside the truck or tent. And getting a little rain or snow on you. Feeling that alive feeling and embracing it. Kind of like emotions. They aren’t good or bad or right. They just are. Keep it up. Keep experiencing and learning. You don’t have to learn everything overnight. I can’t wait to see where you go.

Don't want input from"Pros", want input from everyday folks. Do what you want, it's your channel.

Well Sam, you're nuts doing this . Also, with ALL THE NEW BOWS TECHNOLOGY this coming year we need to see your very structured and detailed tests etc. No one is as particular as you on tests. You would deliver unfiltered information which is something lacking in the bow companies adds. Keep the vids coming!!!!

Not to be harsh on you Samuel. But going on a road trip with arctic temperaturers you real need some better boots and overall clothing. Have 3 layers of cloth and socks. Keep all layers on when idle. Undress layers at a time when moving about. Use "down jacket when sitting still. Use 2 or even 3 sleepingbags in eachother to keep warm at night. Coldest i slept outside was -36 celcius or -32.8 °F for 2 weeks in the military. No joke. You litterly burn your hands on anything of metall at that temprature. Instant freezing injuries.

Life is short Sam, do what you love. Focusing on your passions will eventually make you a master, then the money/followers will come.

I just subscribed to your channel because i am dreaming of the land cruiser you drive. I'd love to see you using it to go do outdoor stuff and developing your and the truck's capabilities. Go for it and just do what you enjoy creating videos for.

You'll son figure out what you need the more you venture out. My biggest mistake, buying what i thought i needed.. eventually had a very big camping yard sale... focus on the following
Simple kitchen, good communications, good tool kit, good self recovery kits. First aid, fire extinguisher..
