'Thanks for all the Ukrainians who did not cast their vote as a joke,' comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy said as he took the lead in the first round of Ukraine's presidential election. Zelenskiy, 41, who plays a fictional president in a popular TV show, has consistently led opinion polls in a three-horse race against incumbent Petro Poroshenko and former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko. He has no political experience but has risen on a popular message of anti-corruption. 'People are above all for me, [they are more important] than political activity and ambitions'. According to a preliminary exit poll, two hours before voting closed, Zelenskiy had secured 30.4% of votes compared to Poroshenko's 17.8%. Tymoshenko, who had won 14.2%, immediately challenged the accuracy of the result, saying her internal polling put her in second place behind Zelenskiy

The former US President, Ronald Reagan, was an actor by trade. He actually did very well, many fondly remember him. Go for it Mr.Zelensky (is this spelling correct, I’ve also seen Zelenskiy... that doesn’t seem right, but I have to make sure). You might be on to something, a fresh new perspective. An actor or comedian is very talented, they know intuitively how to command presence while flattering their audience. It also takes a keen mind to memorize speeches. Who better than a true performer? Seriously, anyone can learn about actual laws and regulations, but with the heart and ambition of an actor, it makes sense! Most politicians are just very bad actors themselves. They get training to speak to the public, many are not that good at it.... food for thought🤗😆😬

The Whole World is a "stage" with a "tragic comedy" 24/7. Zephaniah 3:8; 1:17, 18 will bring it to an end James 5:1. Followed by a beautiful ruler names Jesus Matthew 25:31, 32-44; and Luke 1:31-33. As a Good Shepherd, to lead all nations by a pure language unto everlasting life and happiness. There will not be any "contest" against his rule. And no joke😉

It is an example of how politics becomes a comedy when proper politics is lost and capital is replacing it.
I hope that this ridiculous election result will lead to a happy future for Ukraine.

Since he has no establishment to do a good change in ukraine due to his experience, he will be manipulated by stronger establishments like oligarhs. Poroshenko seems like the better choice, and i wish ukraine is getting closer to european values and not euroasiatic ones. Romanian here.
