The ongoing disaster in the south east should be an example of what to prepare for. Like what if you lose everything including your land? What if you can’t get out? That’s also an example of the government not helping but actually hindering help..

If you have mobility issues or have a pet to prep for, get a suitcase with wheels. This way, you can pack & roll with little effort.

I loved hearing everyone’s stories and they were all valuable. I appreciated the last testimony from a view of mental preparedness, something which is often overlooked.
We don’t have a safe, but all of our important documents are in a small plastic box with a handle that we can grab and go if we need to.
In the end, everything else is just stuff.
Thanks for this series Heidi, and to the people who have sent testimonies. ❤
Shalom

Take your important paper & scan & copy them then put them on a thumb drive . Keep 1 set for yourself and take the thumb drive or copy's of the papers to someone else house. This way, if your house burns down, you will have what you need.

My Aunt and cousin got snowed in at camp. I was checking in! Then I realized they were better off. My cousin keeps wood for the wood burning stove! She can cook, and in a pinch, he can hunt! Imagine that! Not having to relly on a company!

When packing to evacuate, we pack the photo albums and keepsakes and pets over every day items and clothing. You can't replace pets and photo albums but Walmart is always going to have a change of underwear. I've also taken pictures of the albums and put them on CDs (guess that's old fashioned now but imo safer than on your phone that can break) and have one in the safety deposit box and sent around to relatives so there is a copy here, there and everywhere just in case.

If you dont have a fire & waterproof safe, put your papers in a zip lock baggie, then put it in the freezer. It's very rare that a fire will get hot enough to melt the freezer. Just ask the fire fighter to open the freezer.
Have a Bob aka Bug out Bag ready. Put what you need in it & place it where you can grab & go.
Have a person in another country or state that will be your contact in case of emergency. You may not get a call out locally, but you can get it out to your emergency contact.

Since always when we have a few hours or a couple days warnings of storms, we scramble to get get the laundry and baths done. I'll fill every pan and kitchen container with water and do some baking that will last without refrigeration. Or cook what is in the fridge that can be kept cold enough out in the garage if there is no electricity. You can always eat straight from the can with canned goods (you do have a manual can opener). When the electric goes, everything goes here. No water and no pumping the septic away from the house so we keep a 5 gallon beverage cooler by each toilet - conserve with if it's yellow let it mellow (don't flush), if it's brown... well, flush it down but know it won't go past the first tank so be careful to not let it overflow back into the house! Drip dry or use rags so you don't clog it with tp. You've got that container of water to refill the toilet with.

During the big Texas freeze, the cell phones went out like dominoes rather than all at once. Don't ask why. It seemed the little companies went out first and it was the next day that AT&T was that last to shut down. Not saying it'll always be in that order. Don't know why the big companies held out longer since they were all using the same towers.

I wish I could support you via your two offerings, but I can't. I will however, watch every video to hopefully help in that way. May God bless your ministry!

Iive in the South. My Aunt lives in Pennsylvania. She has a camp, ! They got snowed in! Me initial panic. I am better off here! Took a minute to think about that. She has wood pile; for the wood stove. She has canned goods; goods she canned! My cousin was with her so he knows not mess with the freezer if electricity is our. Generater, worst scenario he put the meat in the 8 to 10 feet to keep it frozen! I was actually pretty impressed with the speed of my thought process, considering it went through my mind at jet speed! She is 84 and can run circles around me!
