This Is Actual Communism. I’m Not Being Hyperbolic.

Last week, Eric Weinstein put out a tweet that I think sums up our moment really well. For the past century, ‘communist’ has been a go-to epithet in American discourse to dismiss everything from a minimal social safety net, to ObamaCare, all the way to Kamala Harris’s 2020 campaign proposal to fully ban private health insurance. Sometimes the use of the word was downright paranoid and sometimes it was a fair label, but in most cases, the criticism didn’t engage seriously with the real core of communism — the issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution.

Eric points out that the shift of tech elites towards the Republican Party isn’t just about marginal tax rates or environmental regulations. It’s about highly successful outside-the-box thinkers sensing the creeping threat of actual, full-blown American communism for the first time in their lives.

My son, 35, is basically dead; he's gender transitioned to a women. He's also an ardent, proud marxist communist. He's completely lost to me. He and his friends have hatred and contempt for mostly all our most cherished and useful traditions, and they want to tear them all down with extreme prejudice, and I don't see any proposition amongst them about what they are going to replace them with. No one I know seems to see these facts, and they all treat me as basically hysterical. I had this all figured out by around 2014. It's been very hard to wake up to this reality everyday for the last 10 years.

My heart goes out to Elon Musk. I share his sense of grief and outrage. The woke mind virus is a fatal poison civilisation is administering to itself.
