I actually doubled major in Public Health and Healthcare Management.  I currently work as a on duty hospital administrator and I graduated with my MHA in 2019. If you have a BS in Public health, here are the options you have just coming out of school:Skills that you will definitely need: Mastery of Excel Proficient in Lean six sigma Know how to interpret DATA AND MINE, SQL Areas of concentration :1. Research2. Environmental Health3. Health Administration 4. Environmental  I can only speak from the administrative side. You need to gain as much internship opportunities and employment while in school. If you can, find a part time unit coordinator job, admission coordinator, health rep. Find what part of health administration interest you. For me it was operations and business, so while in school for my BS I worked as a full-time biller for the business office of skilled nursing services. Then once, graduated I was promoted to administrative admission coordinator for skilled nursing services. Monitored all healthcare data for nursing services; readmission rates, insurances and treating specialty codes.   After that I enrolled in a MHA Program (online) that following fall, then I was promoted again to the Lead of Patient services. 2 months before graduating with my MHA I was offered a position at the healthcare facility working as a Hospital Administrator on Duty. I did this all in 3 years and managed to increase my salary 10k a year from when I graduated with my BS in Public Health. Experience...Experience again experience is key!

I was recently accepted into a dual degree program, where I will (hopefully) earn a Masters in Public Health and Anthropology. Fitting, as I find the subject of medical anthropology especially intriguing; analyzing, as you said, the health disparities that, I feel, are emphatically salient to contemporary social discourse. It boggles the mind how radically the clinical, epidemiological, and medicolegal zeitgeists have changed - just since the posting of this video! It is my opinion that, in order to fully understand and address the challenges that disparate populations face, we must analyze the complex biocultural (and, of course, environmental) exigencies that doubtlessly factor into the fundamental etiological frameworks of wellness, illness, and disease.

I feel in love with Public Health during undergrad and I’m currently working for a university that will pay 100% of my masters degree. Would love to get my MPH but not sure how well I would do as far as finding employment in the field.

I love the video. Thank you so much. It was already mentioned in another comment, but yes the music is a bit too loud.

I have my entrance test tomorrow for the Public health master. Fingers crossed :) <3

WOW hearing you went to CDU was the highlight of this video, as I’ll be attending the MSBS program this fall. I’ve been contemplating if I should just go for an additional year to get the MPH, and you’ve definitely helped me solidify that decision. Go you!!!
