This week, we tackle a tune that apparently EVERYONE loves. High enough by the Damn Yankees. I haven't met a single person who, when you mention this song, doesn't say, "Oh my god, I love that song". Such a powerhouse band. I'm sure we'll try another one down the road.
I did something a little different with this cover and asked my good friend, Steve Langley, to mix it for me. Steve mixed my first, and only single released from my solo album, project, debacle, perfectionist's worst nightmare. He did an amazing job on both tunes.
I went a little overboard for the solo, but I think it was required. I also had to insert part of the original video so folks didn't think I just decided to put a smoke machine in front of my house and stand on the front porch and RAWK!

glad I was old enuff in the 80's/90's to appreciate the rock music of the time...This, + Y+T's "Summertime Girls" was what music should be...🤘🤘🤘

That was a great rendition of a lost American classic. I love the take with a female vocal by Katie Edwards. It added a subtle passion. Especially the homage to the Nuge solo. LOL! Thanks for sharing

I am genuinely impressed especially on how well they played that song it is tough to match the original Damn Yankees and props to the dude that came out playing the guitar just like Ted Nugent did in the music video made me chuckle

Love this song's interesting chord changes to start with, and the production values and fidelity to the original are fantastic. Very well done, can't imagine a better cover of this unless the lead guitarist was wearing pro cycling sunglasses ;)

Swear some of these have nicer recording equipment than Muscle Shoals or L.A. Great Job. Sometimes I think people forget how big Ted, Tommy or Jack were in the 70-80’s. It was a great time in life.
