One thing I don't understand is why the Chinese counterfeiters don't establish their own watch brands. They are clearly able to produce very attractive watches at low prices. All they would need to do is change the logo from Seiko to something like Great Wall or Golden Dragon, change the strap and the color of the dial to avoid patent or copyright infringement, impose some basic quality controls, and produce a few ads attesting to the quality of the watches. Another thing I don't understand is why they waste their time counterfeiting Seiko when they could be counterfeiting Omega or Rolex. It can't be much more expensive to produce a fake Rolex than it is to produce a fake Seiko.

Both watches made in China, seiko charge $800 for a $300 watch, I would be happy with the cheap one they both tell the time and look good.

Hmmm. I’m not sure either of these are fake. I think they might just be both differences in the production line. There probably are fake alpinists, but I’m not sure the one on the right is.
I wonder why they don’t fake the sarb033 more, it seems easier to fake then the sarb017

Hard to tell with the video quality, but the strap on the right looks real. Opening and checking the movement would be the easiest way to tell

I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’ve been following a new old stock Sarb017 ending tomorrow on EBay and feel nervous about being scammed, but some of the stuff on your fake look like my friend’s real alpie. The strap being a biggie. This is one of my favorite watches, but I’m a poor man and throwing 1000 at a rip off would break my heart. I could do the prospex, but the cyclops/white date window combo is the big change that made me never pull the trigger.

obviously this was filmed pre-2020 but my LG V60 is the best camera on any phone I"ve ever had lol anyway thanks for the heads up. Recently had my SARB017 stolen so looking to buy another one but I forgot the possibility of buying potential fakes

Hello, I want to ask for a general understanding of the picture. Have you checked the accuracy and power reserve in this fake watch, the presence of sapphire crystal and water resistance?

You've got it completely wrong! The number 700738 on the watch to the right suggests it was made in Oct 2007 or 2017, whereas the number 920897 on the watch to the left suggests it was made in Feb 2009 or 2019 (Can't be 2019 because it was discontinued in 2018). There are bound to be some differences between the two.

Good intentions but man, it's pretty unwatchable for a visual guide

The Fake is 8 Dollar on Wish. Even if its a fake how can they make this price. This means Seiko makes this watch for less. I want this watch. Here in Europe it costs about 700 Dollar. They could easely do it for 250.

Homage and fakes are completely different it's one thing to replicate the look it's another thing to outright deceive. If people hate homage then so be it but it's not a fake watch. Buying a watch for $250 that says Rolex is a fake watch.
