Disney announces ‘Coco’ ride, other major expansion plans for Disneyland Resort

Massive expansion plans will bring new experiences and attractions to Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure in the coming years.

This is why Disneyland has become so lame. When Walt Disney first built Disneyland, he wanted it to be a place where adults and children could not only enjoy time together, but in some cases be inspired by adventures and perhaps even learn something. Think of the some of the most legendary rides at DL from the past... POTC, The Haunted Mansion, The Matterhorn, Space Mountain, etc. These rides were all developed from scratch and really challenged Walt's team to make them reality. And more importantly, NONE of these classics was based on an existing film franchise. That's all Disneyland is these days. A corporate hack that's only interested in re-hashing one of their film franchises into a ride. Gee, how original. Every day Disneyland is turning more into Universal Studios. Just a corporate entertainment conglomerate pushing out boilerplate attractions designed to simply sell more merch. Where's the imagination Disney?

Tickets are going to go up because of all the new rides. I used to go to Disneyland all the time. I got my car keyed at the parking lot once, which security was unwilling to help with. Start saving up now for a 5-minute ride (being generous), which you waited for over 2 hours for, or you can pay even more for an express pass. It's too packed, too hot in the summer, food is overpriced. When is this going to stop? Disney Corp Execs don't care about you! I call for a "temporary boycott" of Disneyland and productions to even out the playing field. If you think I'm crazy, look at how the market is reacting to McDonald's.
