The best battleship in the game...I love this ship

California was a Tennessee Class Battleship(See Tennessee in game). During Pearl Harbor, she was not in battleship row and was positioned directly in the path of the Japanese torpedo bombers. She got lucky however and received light enough damage -compared to others at least- and was sent back to the continental US after a path was applied to cover the hull breaches.
California, being one of the more modern standard type Battleships, and missing a decent portion of her superstructure due to the conning tower and rifles removal during refloating was refitted to have more extreme torpedo defenses, more high deck armor and high AA callabilities.
She resumed her fight in the Pacific in June of 1944 bombarding Saipan. She was later involved in the Battle of Surigao Straight.

My best game in the California was a few days ago: 190, 044damage, 73 hits, 3 kills, 1 Confederate, 1 First Blood, 2 Devastating Strikes and 1 High Caliber. Surprised myself! Too bad we lost. Love this ship, my most played.

My most played ship and probably have more Dev Strikes in it then all my other ships combined, maybe. On a side note the Ship I served on the Taney was in Pearl Harbor during the attack, one of the few ships that got underway. She shot down some Japanese planes and took on prisoners'. She ended up as protecting convoy's and sub hunting.

by far my most played ship, and she's a beast. my only gripes with her are that she loves to play confetti cannon on some days and that i somehow never manage to citadel another Cali while being citadel'd by another cali myself.

in the end she can absolutely delete DDs, cruisers, sometimes BBs and eats Planes like skittles but Torp DDs and HE Cruisers can be her downfall if you get focused due to her abysmal speed

For the longest time the warspite was my go tier 5 bb, like a comfortable pair of old pj's.
Since the introduction and popularity of cvs at lower tiers I think the Cali pips it for me but only just!

Why does nobody give the West Virginia the love she deserves? especially at T5. You are the perfect counter to pushing battleships, and your heavy AP really hits DD's pretty hard. Yeah, your ap tends to ever pen cruisers because her 16in guns, but shooting at angled cruisers is actually more viable with her. First kraken I ever earned was in WV, don't get me wrong. Cali is one of my favorites, but WV just hits differently

Oh yea, Cali is imo the best T5 bb..my go to in all T5 arena/brawls. Volume with accuracy and some of the best AA 💯

I dont want to push to early into torps or H.E spam.

Is there a rule of thumb for "when to push in a battleship" ?

I love this ship i got 2 krakens back to back last night.it just smacks ships so consistently 👍first game was 3567xp and second game was 2987 xp.she is slow but she punishes broadsides so well
