The best part of the Day-O scene is Lydia just giggling in the corner, obviously loving every second of it.

"This is so stupid!"
Yup. Surprisingly that often makes for a great movie.

Whoever edits these videos does a remarkable job of really making you feel like you're watching the entire movie in 30 minutes.

Keaton owned this role, and the thing I always forget is how little he's in the movie. What scenes he does have he dominates.

Proves what a great versatile actor Michael Keaton is. Such a talent.

"THIS IS SO STUPID!!!" Lol that's probably the best assessment of this entire movie, and I mean that as a compliment to the movie. It's stupid in a way that's genius and it revels in it. I love that.

The main thing is that the movie makes you smile, and laugh. And no matter how crazy everything gets, you always feel sympathy for the married couple and the Wynona Ryder character.

Yup, I am only one who is going to mention the genius of film composer Danny Elfman. Film music, the most underappreciated and hardest music to write. Film composers deserve so much credit.

"She's still upset because somebody dropped a house on her sister." I love that line.

“Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?”

This movie is simply Tim Burton's imagination and sense of humor run amok, in a time before photorealistic CGI. Quirky animation, puppets, models, color, light, shadow and abundant personality.

They made a cartoon in the 90s, which I grew up watching before I even knew about the movie. It's very different but still crazy. Lydia and Beetlejuice are actually friends and Barbra and Adams aren't in it.

Fun fact: Alyson Court voiced Lydia in the show. She also did the voice for Jubilee from the X-Men cartoon and Claire Redfield from most of the Resident Evil games.

The actress that play Juno, Sylvia Sidney, started acting in silent films in 1926 (according to IMDB), her final credit was in Fantasy Island in 1999 - a career spanning 73 years.

This movie is just pure joyful lunacy. I was a kid when I first saw it, and I loved it and had all the toys. It was outrageously popular at my school. Whenever I see people react to it today, they always seem like they have no idea what to do with it, because it sort of defies genre and isn't particularly interested in traditional narrative. The movie is more interested in providing a fun ride, and as long as you don't take it too seriously, Beetlejuice definitely delivers.

You are correct, Cassie. Michael Keaton was Batman in 1989's _Batman, _ directed by Tim Burton, with Jack Nicholson as Joker. Great movie.

Beetlejuice was also a cartoon for a few seasons after the movie in which Lydia & Beetlejuice were best buds.

Love this movie, Michael Keaton was brilliant as Betelguese, and later as Batman. Beetlejuice + Batman + Batman Returns = Michael Keaton and Tim Burton perfection.

I would definitely agree that Beetlejuice is one of those films that takes more than 1 viewing to be appreciated. I saw it when it first came out on VHS and didn't understand it. In fact, I didn't start understanding it until my sister's best friend started insisting that we watch it every time my sister had a sleepover. To that effect, multiple viewings definitely helped me to appreciate the film better.
