Today we are going to a special place! One of the deposit where it seems abandoned supercars are! So Iet’s check if you can really find all those supercars!
I’m here at Emirates Auction, a leading UAE-based auction company in the Middle East. Founded in 2004, and where great part of the abandoned cars are brought by the police.
Already in the external parking you can see several luxury cars, a modern Lamborghini Aventador, but also a classic car: it seems to be a Ford T. You can see also Mercedes GT, a Ferrari 488, Bentley, Mercedes G_wagon, S Class and a Tesla… Let’s try to get inside to give a look at the internal parking.
Here we are! I’m in! Beside a dusty F430, I also found several bikes, a red SLS (maybe a black series), a white 458, lots of 4x4 and SUV, but also lots of normal cars. At least normal for this market. I also see a Classic SL and with the occasion I tell you here in the GCC you can easily find classic cars with a low budget (at least lower than market price), cause without AC and being difficult to find specialised garage (able to give a proper maintenance), it’s not easy to find a customer for this kinda models
But just while I’m going around I can see…. a Ferrari Enzo! Maybe it’s the car retrieved some years ago. In another video we will deepen this matter and publish another video about it. In the meanwhile I go on with my tour…
Premium vehicles being abandoned is not an uncommon sight in Dubai.
Supercars are ditched by owners who have hit financial difficulties as there is no protection through bankruptcy in the UAE and defaulting on finance payments is a crime under Sharia Law.
As matter of facts, many of the cars belong to foreign expats, facing hard times: so instead of trying to sell the car or other properties - for example - they prefer to leave the country in an effort to evade debts and authorities.
Many high-end vehicles are recovered by the police and auctioned after a while, if they are left on public roads, but others are dumped in car parks at airports or remote locations dubbed 'supercar graveyards'
