She's definitely American, but her English accent seems to have been influenced heavily by the Korean's English accent. Meaning she's been in Korea a very very long time to have picked up the accent the Koreans use for English. At least 6+ years. As an American I was trying to pinpoint where I heard her accent before and realized it's actually just a really good Korean-English accent.

As an American myself I would not have guessed that Hope is American because she speaks English with a pretty heavy accent. To me it sounds like a European accent but I'm guessing she's just lived in Korea since she was a child.

I watched one of her videos where she was with a British friend, and her heavy accent is not there.
Sometimes you just subconsciously catch the accent of the person you're talking to, specially if you are already familiar with their language and the way they sound. It's like another identity coming out of you. You do that to make yourself easier to be understood by them. So she did not lose her native accent by staying in Korea for so long, she was just not able to switch to her "I don't speak Korean" mode. 😂

You can definitely tell she has flow when speaking English (as someone who is native) but there bit of accent (sounds like korean) probably due to her being Korea for a long time.

This woman seems more Korean than American. Her mannerisms are not at all American, and she clearly hasn’t lived there much, so it doesn’t seem like these people are really getting the experience of meeting an American. They’d learn more from an American born to Korean parents!

Not sure if she's american. She doesn't sound like a native american. She's either not american or she grew up in another country for a long time🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
