I was chopping yesterday with that same axe 26 f below zero didn't break. 4 degrees this morning didn't break.

Got the Fiskars X5 and the X7, now getting used to a brand new X10... I suppose Next upgrade will be the X15

Good review. Although Fiskars claims their composite handle axes are OK between -50 and +50 degrees Centigrades. So maybe not the North Pole, but even most of Canada would be OK with that too.

I own an fiskars x17 splitting Axe and it kicks ass on any type of wood with less effort than other axes I used before.
No doubt for me-greatness pure but yeah if it breaks out in the mountains being all alone the you're screwed.
