I love how each new tractor is easier to start than the last one. The 4430's are such a pain to start when cold.

They each have their distinct start up sound the 4440 my favorite at the end of start-up just listen to it just beautiful my Dad drove it man the sound of the engine at high rpm's just incomparable.

We got a 4450. Beautiful tractor, never had a problem starting and it has plenty of lugging power. And, i love the way these series sound!

I put 2 12volt batteries in parallel and a gear reduction starter on our 4430 helped alot

here is a tip for those older John Deere tractors that just don't like to start in cold weather you can take the steering wheel and move it back and forth really quick while cranking it over and it releases the hydraulic pressure of the pump allowing itit to crank over faster

I love those Deere's. We use to have a 4430 on the farm and it too was a terrible cold starter. Are all those Deere's yours or do you own a dealership??
