WiP It Wednesday for Wednesday May 3, 2023.

What's a WiP? A WiP is short for Works In Progress.

WiP it Wednesday is where I show the craft projects I've worked on this past week. I go into detail and discuss patterns, needles, and yarn. I discuss what I like and don't like about each of my projects.

I currently go live twice a month on the first and third Saturday at 11:00 am mountain time. I live in Arizona where there is no daylight savings time.

Hey Robin, thanks for sharing about your move. Take it easy. My only advice, ( I have movied a lot) 1) get rid of what you can. 2) keep packing when you have time. 3) When you get to your house, put up the beds FIRST. Trust me on that one. It is so you have a place to sit down and rest/sleep immediately and while you are unpacking trying to find where you packed your spatuala, or frying pan, or toilet paper! Oh, yeah, have a small separate box in your immediate reach of bathroom supplies. You can do it! Try to make it fun!

Robin - great projects. The pillowcase/topper is brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing more moving info. I know it turns into crazy time packing, moving, selling, etc! One day at a time!

Love the pillow covers! Great fabric! Love the idea of putting a zipper in the back. Good luck with the whole moving process! Sounds like you have things well under control.

I love both pillows. It’s amazing how different the two pillows look, with points and without. I love the secondary pattern of triangles with the variations in turquoise and green.
I moved from NY to Maine last year so I like hearing about your move which is much longer than mine. You’re much better organized than I was. Congratulations on that and good luck for an easy uneventful move.

Really like the pillow cases/wall hanging/ table topper!!! Moving can be a very busy, hectic time - but also exciting as you start the next chapter in a new place! As always, thank you for your enthusiasm, ideas, and chat!

There is an IKEA in Tempe on I-10, fairly central in the greater Phoenix valley. My daughter and I have matching sewing tables, each created from two ALEX drawer units with one of their table tops (32"×64" with rounded corners) sitting on top. We love them! My daughter became expert at assembling their furniture years ago as her kids were growing and I have gotten a lot of practice in the past couple years. 😉 We also have many of the various Walmart bookcases that we purchased and assembled over the years. (Others we donated.)

Your moving plans reminded me of both our recent move across Arizona to move in with our daughter and our planned move to a larger multi-generational house sometime in the not too distant future. 😊

I had to count throw pillows before posting! 😉🤣 There are always 2 or 3 throw pillows with washable pillow covers in the family room plus a couple throw size quilts and a dog blanket. There are 6 throw pillows in cubbies under my daughter's cutting table ready for rotation for ones that need washing. My husband has a couple throw pillows in our bedroom. (My daughter and I both did the Journey2Nebula sew along resulting in lots of pillow covers and throw size quilts.) With cats, a dog, and college age granddaughters with friends, a few sets of washable items (in addition to seasonal ones) is very useful!

Thanks Robin! Great idea to make Wallhanging / pillow covers. Moving is torture! Sort and label as much as you can! I’m still looking for things from a year ago move!

🤩🙏 Pillows.
Thx for the vid, Robin. I’ve enjoyed your channel for many years & enjoy your chatter. That said, I haven’t been able to keep up on all of them of late.
Do you have a video where you talk about how you & the kids decided to move together to AZ? I’m interested in the many things that you might’ve considered before making that decision.
Best to all of you as you do “all the things” to make it happen.

The pillows came out beautifully!! With and without points, each have their charm. I can only stand 4 or 5 throw pillows in my house - mostly on the LR sofa & chairs. The thing of having to move a gazillion pillows to sit or go to bed drives me batty 🤪
