Oh god Toona. Horrendous. I always wonder how these things get developed, get past taste tests and gets on the shelves of Whole Foods when they are absolutely disgusting.

Once it’s mixed into a “salad” for a sandwich it seems to lose any hint of taste that might evoke tuna, it also seems to be more of a convincing “chicken salad” for sandwiches than tuna. Nevertheless after finally finding it and trying it out I have already eaten several sandwiches made from it, it just really has no discernible “seafood” flavor once mixed in with other ingredients and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing after you lose that expectation.

I appreciate your honesty. I tried the stuff and hated it. The texture is mealy, not flaky, and it tasted like beans, not tuna. I had high hopes for this stuff but found it completely disappointing.

I tried this Tuna, and had the same reaction as Edyn. It's not bad, but it's not as good as chickpea mash. I think Good Catch needs to tweak the formula, maybe make it taste more "fishy" and the texture more flaky. Also, the smell is a little too beany.

The best tuna salad i have made was with carrot pulp! I went to a raw restaurant in Atlanta and they had it there... so good!

I make my own tuna. 2 palm hearts and just mayo (vegan....🙄duh🤦🏼‍♀️) and paprika (and cayenne pepper, if you like a bit of spice) so simple and it tastes so good!! I toast some bread (preferably a bagel, but any bread will do) and put some vegan cheese on top (I LOVE Vilolife original/creamy!!!!) for a homemade funa (fake tuna) melt!!!! Try it, you won’t be disappointed! I like the fish substitutes more than I ever liked real fish! I NEVER ate fish and I now I LOVE vegan

Edyn, I agree the Toona smelled and looked like cat food. No matter how much I attempted to dress it up the taste was horrible. I just don't see myself paying $5 for a pouch of vegan tuna so I'll just have to continue to make my faux toon myself. Thanks for sharing though I truly appreciate it. Blessings.
