Was Ron Paul right about foreign aid?

"Should we be pro-Israel or pro-Arab or anti-Israel or anti-Arab? ... But I think there's a third option to this that we so often forget about—why can't we be pro-American?" then-U.S. Rep. Ron Paul said on the House floor in 2001. Amid a new surge in violence in the region, is Paul's message still relevant?

Ron Paul: Best president we were not allowed to have.

Why would this be a question? Ron Paul was/is right about everything

Max completely ignores the whole point. He's got word salad to justify endless money. Ron Paul was right. End all foreign aid.

But Max Abrams didn’t respond to Ron Paul’s most salient points. We should all wonder why.

Take a jar, tape a piece of paper to it that says Ron Paul was right, then buy a new jar because you're probably going to fill that one up.

Max could end the conflict just by talking everyone to sleep

It's Ron Paul, so automatically, yes, he's right. Literally everything he said was going to happen if we didn't change our foreign, domestic, and economic policies, has happened

I’m a leftist, and as politicians go Ron Paul is 100x more my hero than Bernie Sanders ever was.

Foreign aid appears NOWHERE in Article 1 Section 8 of the US Constitution. Every penny of foreign aid is UNCONSTITUTIONAL

"Comes at a very low price to the United States..." 😂 a low price would be STAYING OUT OF FOREIGN CONFLICTS.

I don’t need to listen to it to know the answer is yes

3:34 The question: What do you think about pulling aid to both sides? Max's response: I'm not going to directly answer that, but I will say Biden is doing good...

Was this interview helpful to anyone?

Ron Paul is right always has been. We shouldn’t be policing anyone’s problems only our own. Hey I like Jewish, European, Japanese people etc. but their problems and wars are not my problems. My problems are here in the U.S. my government Is becoming more and more tyrannical and we are concerned with others problems more than our own.

Love how Abrahms totally ignores the initial question. Should run for president.

Anyone else tired of hearing people who are unwilling or unable to respond directly to a question??

Yes. Ron Paul is so rational here. Americans have gotten used to indulging in understandable outrage, then financing and projecting power to assuage it.

The problem we’ve seen again and again is that we don’t understand the local conditions enough to avoid making it worse. Also there’s no constitutional authorization for military action without a declaration of war.

And while I appreciate I Abrams’ historical account, I don’t think it answers Ron Paul’s larger point.

Yes. He was the only voice of reason in DC for a long time. I recall the day I knew our country was doomed was when he said we need to live by the golden rule and was booed on stage. I just knew we were ripe for judgement in that moment

Of course Ron Paul was right. Countries cannot be enemies, only people can. Countries are abstract concepts, not biological thinking beings. Wars are not possible unless people dehumanize the residents of a country by treating them (even children and pets) as a unit. No money should be given to political leaders, especially if it was extorted from those who earned it. No president represents me accurately and few in Congress, and if I was in another country their leader would not represent me either. I know lots and lots of people who would manage international relationships better than any political process and they would do it with their own money and with donor support. We should have a neutral foreign policy and stop our magical thinking that we can mandate peace through political force and bribery paid from stolen funds.

I like the part where he gave a point by point response to Ron Paul.
