I use to love it when Slim would open a set with this tune. In smaller clubs, he would walk from the back of the audience to the stage while belting out the lyrics. He certainly was a crowd pleaser.

In this video, I see so many faces filled with admiration for what the blues is all about.
Nothing but pure raw emotion, wearing ones heart out on a sleeve.
I hear you Slim and James. And, feel you too.

When I was 17, I was playing either piano, bass or drums behind many of these geniuses when they came to Bakersfield, CA in the 1960s. They usually came to the Cotton Club on Lakeview Ave, or out in the town's outskirts across Brundage Lane aka as "The Country", where there was another Blues night club named 'The Brown Derby'. In this video, James was too weak and ill to hold his breath long enough to hit those notes that he tore the world up with back in the day. It was good t o see him again, but it brought tears to my eyes.
