*Beginner Tries To Punch Needle For The First Time*

I've been wanting to try punch needling for a while now ever since....the big rug tufting incident. As an absolute beginner, I had no idea what I was doing, but it actually turned out to be so fun and pretty easy once I got the hang of it! Definitely recommend this as your new hobby to replace scrolling.

the working side is the backside of your piece. The “rug” side as you said it is the side you would normally want showing, but obviously it’s always up to you

11:45 In case you didn't know, the different names for the punch needle hook size refers to how many strands the yarn is woven with/yarn weight! 1 ply is a single strand of yarn, 3 ply is 3 strands woven together, and DK is a weight 3 yarn that can have more strands woven in depending on the yarn. Hope this helps!

When punch needling you have to use the right fabric for the needle you have to avoid the struggle and pain, punch needle is such a fun hobby to learn and there is so much to do with it 🤍

Hi! For color in the tote bags you could try fabric dye, and experiment with it, same fabric, a world of colors, hope it helps!🤗

Just found this video searching for punch needling. This video is everything. Thanks so much.
Also I had a thought…not sure if it would work or not. I was thinking about doing a design on an ideal fabric (not sure what that is 😂) cut it out and glue like the coaster then choose what you want to apply it to (ie tote bag) and use a fabric glue like Aleenes to apply it to the bag. Thoughts?
