I took mine to a garage yesterday. And they was 2 hours or so getting mine apart. I don't have a vice. And it sucked. They didn't charge me anything. Thank goodness

No, you go pay the $53 for the new stub and replace it too because it's dumb to put the new shaft on that crap. Now if you have the Dana axle the stub doesn't just pull out, then you are torching the cv shaft to get it off.

I had to remove cv and stub shaft together and actually cut it apart on the bench. What a pain in the ass

At this point, it's time to replace both.

I also have a ram 1500 4x4 I'm going to silicone the cv axle at the stub to keep the water and crude out of it

Nah, better option is to take apart the cv axel, use a punch to push out the stub shaft. Some have holes for this exact purpose. If theres no hole, the material the cup is made from is pretty thin behind the stub shaft. Way easier than beating it with a hammer... the hammer/vise could damage the stub shaft.

Stupid stupid, stupidity. Why not flange the dam thing and run four bolts in it. So dam stupid. Engineering should be done in the real world. Not some idiots sitting at a computer thinking they know how to make shit.
