The fact that I can stand within arms reach of so many iconic, historic, and glorious cars is absolutely the best part of FoS. I find myself spending most of the day wandering around the paddock.

Brilliant. And long may it continue. The 'access all areas' is the number one reason for it's success. Please don't ever change that. Been here for 18 years and been to Goodwood FOS 16 of those years. I guess you could say I'm a fan.

Went to the first FOS along with my Dad that year. Fairly sure we paid, although as my father is a keen advocate of the "duck under the fence and embarrass your child" school of parenting, there's no guarantee - "Come on son, it'll be an adventure!" Fee dodging aside, I absolutely loved it: the sounds, the smells, the (compared to now) refreshingly half-arsed approach to health and safety, it was, and still is, fantastic. So to the Duke of Richmond, Rob Widdows (whom I used to listen to on the radio as a kid) and everybody who has made and continues to make this such a world class event, thank you.

Need to do a proper documentary of the whole story. Feels like there's so much to tell, even for just the first year, let alone the other 23.

Amazing how familiar the first one feels to the current event. We have a lot to thank Lord March for!

Went to the first one as a teenager, access to the cars has always made it the best event. Still remember Jonathan Palmer in the Mclaren F1 prototype given it some stick up the hill, fantastic.
