1:02:06 Travis (he/him) - Atheist | Why would some theists defend the claim we all have free will, if in the bible he is shown fully controlling some people?

Just want to say that I appreciate Kane B getting a bigger platform. I think he does good work that is largely unrecognized. Sad that so many just want the bloodsport debate rather than someone thoughtful like Kane B.

I really appreciated the contributions of Kane B to the discussions. I sometimes feel like a dunce when it comes to philosophy, but he was very down to earth and explained himself and his thoughts in language I could understand.

Paul was one of the more bewildering calls I've heard on The Line. So weirdly upfront about the disconnect between his beliefs and objectively verifiable reality.
It'd be like somebody saying "I like to read historical fiction novels and take everything I read in them at face value, without checking to see whether or not the events of this fictional work match up with what is actually known about the time period it's set in." And then when they're told why that's a problem and pressed for a justification for it, their response would be "well, I guess just going to have learn about history the hard way by continuing to rely on fiction to inform me about it."

I was looking forward for that episode, and I haven't been disappointed at all.

Paul coming in hot saying its clear what parts of the bible are meant to be taken literal and they should be viewed as such... and then 2 mins later coming up with interpretations of what he just said should be taken literal lol.

Listening to Kane talking about taking the bible metaphorically. Oh, you dear, sweet man. Not much experience with American theists, eh?
(Keep up the good work. Much appreciation from an atheist in the hellscape of Louisiana's most conservative parish.)

I love the conversations here. I think the conversations had a very different demeanor overall with Kane present. Could be some sort of self-selection from the callers though, with the insufferable types not wanting to face a discussion with someone so well-versed in philosophy.

Travis (if you ever read this).
There is a more simple question in regards to free will.

"How can there be free will, if everything is going according to Gods plan?"

Haven’t watched yet and I don’t know who Kane is, but I subscribed based on the aversion in the comments.

Gee Matt, thanks for making me realize that the music I grew up with must be grandad rock. 🙂

'Close Encounters Of The Third Kind' nailed it. J. Allen Hynek was Spielberg's consultant, who informed him about the most reported kinds of aliens claimed to exist. At that time, the grays were already one of them.

Kane seems well wrapped up, don't blame him, it's bloody cold in this part of the word right now.

The Last Temptation of Christ was actually a really good film!

When some callers are all over the place and seem unsure of why they specifically called I am glad I didn’t watch live so I can skip forward
