Kitchen Lithography: a Failed Attempt

How could I not give it a try? I love printmaking, and living in a small town I have no access to a good equipped studio.
Well, as you can see, it didn't go well... this was my third attempt. I'm taking a few days off and checking other videos for troubleshooting, then I'll try again.
Follow me through the journey!

I have been struggling as well. trial and error, and all the videos, make it look so easy. Thanx for sharing a painful error. Hint that did work: spray the plexi surface with water before putting the aluminum foil down, it helps to secure it in place.

It was happening to me as well until I discovered that it’s better to skip the oil buff and just clean the cola with water. Oil all over is attracting the ink, so I see no point on using it.

I didn’t see you wipe the plate with water before inking… maybe you did and just didn’t film it, but that is imperative in the process as the water repels the ink in the places that you don’t want it. Also this may happen if it is slightly too dry after wiping. You can fix it by re-wetting the plate and doing a few quick back and forth rolls with your brayer (i believe they are called snap rolls) which lays down and also pulls up ink from the areas that should be oleophobic.

Shiny side should be up, add water layer before inking, and touching foil with the fingers doesn’t help secure the foil to plexiglass or glass beforehand so you can keep painting area clean

I’m not sure if you are still having this problem, but I think it is important to keep in mind that oil is commonly used as a makeup remover. It is likely best to not use an oil on an oil if the goal is to keep the oil in place.
