I was homeless heading into high school after my dad was deported. 4 years later and I'm attending college in the fall with a full ride scholarship for audio engineering. This song really hits home. I’m not close to my dad at all and when he does talk to me it doesn’t go so well. I’ve been homeless before and I didn’t have anyone to look up to. I’ve listened to this song for so long not paying attention to the lyrics, and I relate so much. His songs make me forget the troubles I have for a minute or two and I love it.
